Ideal place as right near my son and dog friendly too Positive: Location was excellent for us great for exploring the dales/ lakes or going to into the city for the Xmas market etc rooms were comfortable and clean Negative: Not enough mugs only 3 and they was 5 of us, considering there was only one other person in the property there wasn't any room in the fridge or space for storage of our food Use of a communal room would have make the stay complete

Really good value for money. Comfort/cleanliness/location off M6. Positive: Very comfy bed. Good TV selection. Dog safe area outside.

I personally would not book again but do thank the host for his quick response and actions. Positive: The location was perfect, not far from the motorway. I was upgraded to a room with my own patio door entrance and initial communication was clear and easy to follow. There was free parking, a communal kitchen which I did not use so cannot comment further on that, shared facilities which were adequate. I had a TV in my room, a recliner chair, desk and clothes rail alongside the bed. The bed was comfortable. Price was very good. Negative: When I arrived I found my key safe open and empty and room door unlocked. It was immediately clear that the room either was in use or had been used and not cleaned/turned over. I made my way into the house and was greeted by a friendly guest. She gave me the hosts number to call, which I did with no answer. I then messaged the host via booking.com and text and asked repeatedly to be called. He did reply quickly to my messages and said he thinks the room had not been cleaned and allocated me another room and gave me the details to the key safe - which was also empty. I contacted him again and asked for a call, again no call but quick reply and he told me where to find the spare key. I cautiously knocked on the door to my new room as I thought I could hear the TV. I went to let myself in and it was occupied and I was met with an understandably angry guest. I apologised and made my way back downstairs to try and call/contact the host again. The host would not call me for some reason but did respond quickly to apologise and said he would come to the guest house to see what was happening. I had plans so I could not wait so I asked him to update me on if I had a clean room or if I had to find alternative accommodation. To be fair he did respond to my message quickly, he did apologise and he did explain my original room was my room - it just hadn’t been turned over. He personally cleaned it for me and offered me a partial refund for the inconvenience. Upon returning to the guest house around midnight I hesitantly let myself in and did try to settle but I could smell food (?fish) from the communal kitchen, which is a personal issue which others may not find a problem. I had to be up early so I sprayed some perfume and got to bed. I was woken up around 5am by other guests. I did not stay the 2nd night through personal choice. I can see the great reviews and it’s unfortunate this was not my experience.

Enroute from Cornwall to Glasgow Positive: All amenities in the house,very warm comfortable room with access to kitchen Negative: Mattress in deluxe room could be firmer,but nothing major
